Colour Therapy

  • 26 Steps

About

Colour therapy, or chromotherapy, is based on the idea that different colours can evoke different moods and can be used to affect our mental and physical wellbeing. Attaching meanings to colours can be traced back a long way all over the world. In Egypt, healers wore blue breastplates to signify their sacredness. In Greece, gold clothes signified holiness. Each colour has a different wavelength, and therefore its own particular energy: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. The human body has 7 different chakras or energy centres, and to have a sense of wellbeing they need to be balanced. If they are not, colour therapy can be used to rebalance/stimulate certain energies.
